The story began during a trip to New York, just before the world went into lockdown due to the pandemic. Marcella missed the irresistible cookies from Levain Bakery and decided to try her hand at making them herself. After some experimenting and adjustments, she perfected the recipe that now forms the foundation of Holy Cookies' delightful treats.

In the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, Holy Cookies was officially born. Marcella started by offering pick-up options from her home, which quickly gained popularity. Soon after, she expanded to an online shop, serving customers across Belgium. Following the success, Holy Cookies found a physical presence on Paardenmarkt in Antwerp before eventually relocating to the bustling Hoogstraat.
